Rema Wins AFRIMMA’s 2020 Best Male West Africa Award – Full Winners List

African Muzik Magazine Awards (Afrimma) 2020 was a virtual event due to the pandemic. Some of the performances were done from various locations across Africa.

The biggest winner of the night was South African music producer and disc jockey Master KG who bagged three awards including ‘Artist of the Year’.

Mavin Records/Jonzing World star act Rema won the ‘Best Male West Africa’ a tightly contested category ahead of other nominees like Adekunle Gold, Burna Boy, Fireboy DML, Kidi, Sidiki Diabate etc.

Burna Boy also won the ‘Crossing Boundary with Music’ category.

Burna Boy nominated at the 2021 GRAMMY Awards | Full Nominees List

The African giant, Burna Boy has once again been nominated at the 2021 GRAMMY Awards for the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category.

This period, Burna Boy’s massive and groundbreaking project, ‘Tall As Twice‘ album was nominated alongside another artiste, Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar and Tianariwen.

Last year, American-Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo disallowed Burna Boy a chance to be crowned. Now, Burna Boy gets another opportunity to put Nigeria on the map next year.

The organizers of the 63rd edition of the prestigious and fascinating GRAMMY Awards has also announced the complete nominee’s list for the upcoming plaque night to be hosted by Trevor Noah aired on Sunday, January 31, 2021.

Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Others Nominated For The ‘Best African Act’ At The 2020 MOBO Awards

The nominations list for the 2020 MOBO Awards is out. After going on a brief hiatus in 2017, the awards is back to reward music artists of black origin.

In the category of Best African Act, Nigerian artists who have been nominated are Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Fireboy DML, Rema, Adekunle Gold, and Wizkid. This has been confirmed from the official Twitter handle of the awards.

Nevertheless, They are all up against South Africa’s Master KG, Nigerian boy-band from East London, NSG, Ivorian-born Afro B, and Ghana’s Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.

Tiwa Savage is the only female Nigerian artist nominated in the category.

Davido’s Featuring Nicki Minaj ‘Holy Ground’ Becomes His Highest-Charting Song On Billboard

One of the tracks on Davido‘s latest album ‘Holy Ground’, which features Nicki Minaj has become his highest charting song on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales Chart.

It has peaked at number two after two weeks on the chart. This is not the singer’s first song to peak at the same number on the Billboard chart.

However, His 2017 bestseller single ‘Fall’ has also risen at the same number on the chart.

Nigeria recalls the song got leaked on Twitter before the album was officially issued. This did not deter Davido from promoting the album. Simultaneous its release, Nicki Minaj took to her Instagram page to congratulate him for taking Nigeria to the world through his music.
